Anxiety and OCD can make a teen’s world feel smaller. Your teen may avoid school, activities, friends, or new experiences; struggle with perfectionism or uncertainty; seek frequent reassurance; or get caught in intrusive thoughts, fears, or rituals that are difficult to move past. They may know anxiety is getting in the way and still feel unsure how to respond differently.
I work with teens ages 11+ to help them understand what’s happening, develop practical skills for responding differently to anxiety and OCD, and build confidence in their ability to handle uncomfortable thoughts, feelings, and experiences.
Parent support is an important part of my work with anxious teens. I incorporate principles from SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) to help parents support their teen with compassion while reducing patterns that may unintentionally reinforce anxiety or OCD.
You may look like you're managing everything on the outside while internally feeling anxious, overwhelmed, exhausted, or constantly on edge. Maybe you're navigating chronic stress, difficult relationships, perfectionism, intrusive thoughts, OCD, or simply a season when life feels like too much.
Therapy is a place to better understand the patterns keeping you stuck and develop practical ways to respond to difficult thoughts, emotions, stress, and uncertainty. My approach integrates evidence-based therapy with mindfulness to help you build greater flexibility and confidence in your ability to navigate what life brings.
When your teen is struggling, it can be difficult to know when to step in, when to step back, and how to help without unintentionally strengthening the anxiety.
In addition to the parent support I provide as part of teen therapy, I offer Anxious Parents of Anxious Teens, a separate coaching program for parents who want focused support and practical tools for navigating their teen’s anxiety and managing their own experience of this challenging dynamic.
